6 Auckland Family Activities for Serious Summer Fun

Summer’s arrived and it’s time to do some serious outdoor play! However, in a city as large and vast as Auckland, where do you start looking for that fun? When we provide our kids facing painting or balloon twisting services at an event, we’re regularly asked for ideas on other activities as well. Being in the event entertainment business, we know a lot about having fun and as such, here are six Auckland family activities we recommend you look into:

1. Visit the beach – we’ve got plenty of wonderful beaches around. Browns Bay, Mission Bay or Karaka Bay are quite family friendly. From making sandcastles to splashing in the surf, you’ve got several hours of fun ahead of you all.

2. Play at the pool – try out the splash pad at the Stanmore Bay Pool, or for a more heritage feel, the splash pad at the Myers Park Playground for some splashing good fun. Our kids’ entertainers would love to come and provide one or two of our awesome kids event services too.

3. Go geocaching – grab your smartphone (or your child’s) and start hunting for those hidden stashes around the city. Why not plan a picnic at the final stash too?

4. Spot for glow worms – take a boat ride out to Rangitoto where you can go glow worm hunting, then climb to the top to burn off all of that extra energy.

5. Western Springs trip – head out for the day to Western Springs and enjoy this stunning park! You could add a trip to MOTAT while you’re there too.

6. Auckland Museum – if the weather is too hot, why not cool down by visiting the museum for a few hours?
